Dorothy, fat, cranky and gifted with an intense, lurid imagination, is a night-shift proofreader who has barely survived a brutal and ridiculous past. Justine, smart, slim and compulsively sexual, is a former schoolyard hellion who has become a freelance journalist with an agenda. When she interveiws Dorothy about her past involvement with a flamboyant, cheesy cult leader, the two are drawn into a strange relationship that splits open their lives in ways neither expects.
