There was a new animal in the South -- or so rumor had it!

Josh Green, the Scribe, claimed venge-right, and with his friend, the centaur Beauty, set out across Southern California to find the creatures who had destroyed their homes and stolen their wives -- for purposes as yet unknown.

The quest would not be easy, for -- according to a mortally wounded witness -- Josh and Beauty hunted a Vampire, a Griffin, and a monstrous mutant.

And between hunters and hunted lay the suspicious minions of King Jarl the Bearman -- an army of intelligent animals and mythic beasts whose forebears were crafted centuries before by human genetic engineers who had unknowingly created the instruments of their decline.
