Summary
(IBList user synopsis):
"The Pagodas of Ciboure" is a story derived from the life of Maurice Ravel by M. Shayne Bell. A sickly child, Maurice travels to the countryside with his mother for quiet and (hopefully) healing. There he encounters the pagodas -- not Chinese buildings but creatures of French myth that love beauty and music. He gives them gifts, helps them out, and asks for healing. A neat little piece of fictionalized biography.
