Sydney student Lark concludes that her native Australia is not big enough to contain her unmitigated need for adventure and her desire to find true love. Lark hitches a ride on an American bound freighter and finds herself on an quixotic, often perilous journey that leads to the island of Manahattan. Only after she is beset with limitless possibilities to adventure does she realize what she has travelled so far for is only part of the journey to know herself.
