Biography:
1911-1970
Rose Louise Hovick, better known as Gypsy Rose Lee, broke into print when she guest-wrote a column for Walter Winchell. Then she stripped for literary action and produced The G-String Murders. It was an immediate best-seller.
Its success established Gypsy in the second of her two careers. While busily engaged in starring in a Broadway musical revue, she found time to turn out another novel - Mother Finds a Body. It's reception was enthusiastic and many reviewers regarded it as superior to her first thriller. (publisher biography)
