Carol Jane Bangs, a fourth-generation Oregonian, is the author of The Bones of the Earth (1982), and Irreconcilable Differences (1978). Her poems are included in The Norton Introduction to Poetry, Ravishing Disunities: Real Ghazals in English, and other anthologies and textbooks. She lives on Marrowstone Island, Washington.
