Andreas Schroeder was born in Hoheneggelsen, Germany, in 1946. He emigrated to Canada in 1951, and set up home base in British Columbia several years later. He is the editor of the journal Contemporary Literature in Translation. He also works in the capacities of poet, fictionwriter, columnist, critic, filmmaker, and translator. His books include The Ozone Minotaur, File of Uncertainties, uniVerse, The Late Man, and Shaking It Rough. The is also co-editor of the anthology Stories from Pacific and Arctic Canada. He has been the recipient of numerous prizes, grants, and awards.
