Robert Ludlum was the author of twenty-one novels, each one a New York Times bestseller. There are more than 210 million of his books in print, and they have been translated into thirty-two languages. He is the author of The Scarlatti Inheritance, The Chancellor Manuscript, and the Jason Bourne series - The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum - among others.
Ludlum started America's first theatre to operate in a shopping mall, the Playhouse on the Mall in the Bergen Mall shopping center in Paramus, New Jersey, in the early 1960s, years before discovering his fiction-writing calling. Some of the actors he imported for the venture were Margaret Truman and Farley Granger ("Sweet Bird of Youth"), Bert Lahr ("Harvey"), Chester Morris ("The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial"), David Wayne ("Send Me No Flowers") and Burt Brinkerhoff ("Five-Finger Exercise").
Robert Ludlum was born on the 25th of May, 1927 in New York City, New York, USA. He married Mary Ryducha in 1951 and fathered three children. He passed away from a heart attack on March 12th, 2001 in Naples, Florida, USA.
