Biography:
British journalist/explorer Hesketh Vernon Hesketh Prichard [F.R.G.S.] (1876-1922) wrote fiction as "H. Heron", often in collaboration with his mother, " E. Heron" (Katherine Prichard). Regarded by some as the best rifle shot of his day, he established the first school for snipers in the British army while serving as a Major in WWI. He was awarded the Military Cross and Distinguished Service Order after his death of blood poisoning suffered as a result of war injuries. The name is sometimes hyphenated "Hesketh-Prichard".
