U.S. graphic-story author Bruce Jones (b. 1944), writer for the Hulk, Spider-Man, etc., etc., was observed to have broken "a few" of the rules for the sword & sorcery genre when he penned his first "straight" S&S story, "Pride of the Fleet" for Swords Against Darkness. That story and twelve others were collected in his impossible-to-find 1987 collection Twisted Tales (not to be confused with the comics series of the same name), illustrated by Richard Corben.. He has written non-genre novels, sometimes under the nom de plume Bruce Elliot. He somewhat resembles the British actor Bruce Jones, but, though both of them have done sword-and-sorcery work, they are two different people.
