Biography:

Susan Palwick is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she teaches writing and literature. Her first novel, Flying in Place (New York: Tor Books, 1992 hc, 1993 pb), won the Crawford Award for Best First Fantasy Novel, presented annually by the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts. The Japanese translation was published in 1997 by Chikuma Shobo. Her second novel, Shelter, is currently under contract to Tor; she expects to complete it in 2001. Aside from the stories listed in her bibliography, she also has a memoir, "The Passing of Parents," forthcoming in the Fall/Winter 2000 issue of The Texas Review.
