Friedrich von Hardenberg. 1772-1801
German Romantic poet, best known for his lyrics Hymnen and die Nacht (Hymns to the Night, 1797) and the novel Heinrich von Ofterdingen (1797). He died young of tuberculosis and left many of his works unfinished.
