Kim Stanley Robinson was born in 1952.
After spending some considerable time travelling and working around the world, he has now settled in his beloved California.
His Mars series is the product of a seventeen-year obsession with the planet. The series was lavishly praised, won numerous awards and has been a long-running global bestseller.
