Johann Rudolph Wyss (1782-1830) Swiss writer and philosopher, authored the Swiss national hymn, but is best known for compiling and finishing The Swiss Family Robinson (Der schweizerische Robinson) originally related by his father, Johann David Wyss (1743-1818) a Swiss Army chaplain, as an entertainment for his sons.
