Born in Pecos, Texas about 1946, Don Glut grew up in Chicago. He became an amateur movie maker at age nine, and many of his early works are still shown at animation festivals. Armed with a B.A. in Cinema and an irrepressible sense of humor, he has been an actor, a rock singer/songwriter, comic-book creator (The Occult Files of Dr. Spektor) record producer, and editor of the magazine Modern Monsters. He is perhaps most widely known for his work in animated and children's TV programs such as Duck Tales and Shazam!, and for his books on dinosaurs, notably The Dinosaur Dictionary (1972) and Dinosaurs: The Encyclopedia (1997).
