Alfred Bester, the author of The Demolished Man, is a successful writer for radio and television. He was once stage manager of a stock company and has written an opera for The New Opera Company. A native New Yorker, Mr. Bester studied at the University of Pennsylvania and at Columbia. He is married to a well-known radio and television actress. The Besters live in a fine old brown-stone house in midtown Manhattan.
