Lucy Sussex was born in Christchurch, New Zealand and currently lives in Australia. She works as a researcher and editor as well as writing a newspaper review column. Lucy has been published internationally and in a various genres including children's fiction, literary criticism, horror and detective stories.

She has won the Aurealis Award and, twice, the Ditmar Award for excellence in Australian science fiction writing.
