Bette Greene grew up in a small Arkansas town and in Memphis, Tennessee. She studied in Paris and in New York, where she was a student of Martha Foley's at Columbia University. She has published short stories and newspaper and magazine articles. Mrs. Greene now lives in Brookline, Massachusetts, with her husband and two children.
