Before taking up mystery writing as Melodie Johnson Howe, Melodie Johnson had a successful career as a character actor in the 1960's and 70's, in movies such as Coogan's Bluff and as a guest star on nearly a dozen television series as diverse as Beretta and Love, American Style. She is seen here as "Dusty" on Bewitched.
