California-born Ronald Joseph Goulart (b. 1933) has used the pseudonyms Josephine Kains, Howard Lee, Frank E. Shawn, Kenneth Robeson (house name), Con Steffanson (a penname that was exclusively his until Avon mistakenly stuck it on one of the late Bruce Cassiday's books) and Joseph Silva. After decades of delighting science fiction fans (under his own name) with shaggy-dog novels of the future, Ron has gained fresh and well-deserved notoriety in the past few years as author of the Groucho Marx mystery novels.
