Biography:
Pelham Grenville Wodehouse, (1881-1975) pronounced "Woodhouse," was often also pronounced the funniest writer of two continents and at least one century (the 20th, of which he got in early and stayed...in the first one or two decades). Wodehouse, the inventor, in case anyone doesn't know, of the unflappable Jeeves, gentleman's gentleman's gentleman's gentleman, and his flappable young master, Bertie Wooster, was "Plum" to his friends (try saying "Pelham" very fast) which explains why one keeps seeing him called that. He was knighted in 1975, six weeks before his death at 93. Foul play is suspected.
