Biography:

James Byron Huggins, the author of three bestselling action thrillers for the Christian market: Leviathan, The Reckoning, and A Wolf Story was born August 14, 1959 and graduated from Morgan County High School in Alabama. In 1981 he received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and English from Troy State University. Over the next three years, he won seven awards while working for the Hartselle Enquirer.

In 1985 Huggins took a break from journalism and moved to Texas to work for members of the Christian Underground in Eastern Europe, setting up railing to smuggle information in and out of Iron Curtain countries. (Getting the operation off the ground proved difficult and forced him to become homeless-living and sleeping in the woods.) He finally made it to Romania in 1987, where he photographed a Secret Police Installation and took pictures of people active in the Christian underground. He helped set up avenues for smuggling (smuggling out film and documentation) and created a code for communicating with the western world. As a means for survival, to escape discovery, he was forced to either hide in the woods or in basements for days at a time.

Upon his return to the United States, Huggins joined another small newspaper and won several awards in writing, before going to work for a non-profit Christian magazine. He later worked for the Huntsville Police Department as a uniform patrolman for five years. He was decorated as Field Training Officer, and had the highest detective exam score in the history of the department, before resigning to write full-time.

He lives in Decatur, Alabama.
