Laura French was born and raised in Moorhead, Minnesota, was an editor for Western Publishing, and claims credit for compiling the "Trixie Lore" material that was used by Trixie Belden writers in the 70's and 80's.

After she left Western Publishing and became a free-lance writer, she began writing Trixie Belden books.
