Canadian-born writer Barbara Delaplace's stories have enlivened more than two dozen fantasy and science fiction anthologies. Her story "Black Ice" (from the theme anthology Aladdin: Master of the Lamp) won the Homer Award for best short story of 1992. She was married to fellow writer Jack C. Haldeman II.
