In 1997 Gordon Van Gelder took over as editor of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction (F&SF); three years later he bought the magazine. A former editor at St. Martin's Press, the dynamic Mr. Van Gelder is married (*sigh*) and lives in Manhattan.
