Perhaps best known for her innovative Sherlock Holmes novel, The Beekeeper's Apprentice, Laurie R. King has won the Edgar for Best First Novel for A Grave Talent (1993), the 2002 Macavity for Folly, the Creasey dagger from England's Crime Writer's Association (also for A Grave Talent), and the 1995 Nero award for A Monstrous Regiment of Women. She has a B.A. and an honorary Master's Degree in theology.
