Winston Churchill is mainly remembered as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during WW2 though he was also a member of the War Cabinet during the First World War, where he held the post of First Lord of the Admiralty.

During his life, he was a soldier, journalist and author as well as politician, winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953

His full name was Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill though his branch of the family dropped the Spencer as a regular part of their name during his father's lifetime.
