Jon A. Jackson, author of the popular Detective Sergeant "Fang" Mulheisen series, became interested in the American labor movement as a young man, growing up in Detroit. He moved to Montana in 1968, and lived in Butte for a time. "The story of radical labor leader Frank Little naturally attracted my interest. This historic episode provides a dramatic illustration of the problems of ordinary working people. A story like this is a gift to a writer, but carries an accompanying responsibility to present the material appropriatly. It'n not so much a question of historical exactitude, as getting the tone right. I feel that "Go By Go" is my most important work to date."
