Iggy Pop was born James Newell Osterberg in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on April 21, 1947. Dubbed the "Godfather of Punk," he is one of the most controversial and influential rock musicians today. Iggy earned his title with his group The Stooges in the late 1960s, and continuing with his solo career, has created an idelible legacy through over 20 albums of raging , bleeding, brilliant music. Iggy starred as the villian Curve in The Crow: City of Angels although the character Funboy in the original Crow film was modelled specifically for him, but scheduling prohibited him from being in the movie; additional appearances range from Tales from the Crypt to Star Trek: Deep Space 9. He has also worked extensively with David Bowie.
