Patricia Nead Elrod is a vivid, exciting, crazed tornado of a woman who writes as ferociously as she lives. The great silent film actress Louise Brooks once said, "If I ever bore you, it will be with a knife," but if she hadn't said it first, Pat would have. Boring, Pat ain't. Brilliant, she is. Read her books. Read them again. Hang around her at a convention, if you've taken your Vivarian. She'll never, ever bore you ... not even with a knife.
P.N. "Pat" Elrod lives in Texas with her dogs, books, and a full-sized TARDIS she built when she had too much time on her hands. Her start in professional writing began at TSR doing gaming modules.
A lifelong fan of Vampire stories, gangster films, and pulp magazines, she combined all three into the Vampire Files, featuring the undead detective Jack Fleming. She also wrote the Jonathan Barrett: Gentleman Vampire series, edited Time of the Vampires with Martin H. Greenberg, and has contributed to several other anthologies.
She's collaborated with actor Nigel Bennett (LaCroix of TV's "Forever Knight") on a new series of vampire novels beginning with Keeper of the King, and is hard at work on her next set of toothy titles.
