Larry Karp built upon his many years of collecting and restoring antique music boxes to turn out the well-received Music Box Mystery Series (The Music Box Murders, Scamming the Birdman, The Midnight Special), set in New York City and featuring amateur sleuth Dr. Thomas Purdue; then he applied his medical background to write the partially-historical First, Do No Harm. Now, Larry, a ragtime music buff, has taken the plunge into the deep end of the history pool to explore a strange occurrence from more than a hundred years ago involving composer Scott Joplin. Larry lives with his wife Myra in Seattle; they have two grown children.
