T.M. Wright was born in 1947. He began writing as a way of escaping and exorcising a grim and abusive childhood and adolescence. Wright's atmospheric and disturbing novels include Strange Seed, A Manhattan Ghost Story, The Waiting Room, Carlisle Street, The Playground, and the chillingly surreal The Island. He has also written screenplays and short fiction. He and his wife, Christine Basile-Wright, have two children, Erika and Dorian. They live in upstate New York.
