Richard Dean Starr
is a former member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and the Georgia Press Association. His work has appeared in Starlog
, Science Fiction Chronicle
, and numerous other magazines and newspapers, beginning when he was only seventeen. In addition to his magazine work, he was a reporter and Entertainment Editor for the former Southeast Georgian
and Camden County Tribune
newspapers, now called the Tribune-Georgian
, before the age of twenty-one.
His Hellboy story, “Unfinished Business,” co-authored with New York Times best-selling novelist Ed Gorman, appeared in the anthology HELLBOY: ODDER JOBS, edited by Christopher Golden.
Most recently, “The Shadow That Shapes the Light,” also co-authored with Ed Gorman, appeared in the KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER CHRONICLES anthology from Moonstone Books. In October, 2005, his story “Fear Itself” was published in the special Stephen King Halloween issue of Cemetery Dance magazine.
He is currently at work on THE DEAN KOONTZ ENCYCLOPEDIA, a comprehensive reference guide to the number-one New York Times best-selling author, which includes an introduction by acclaimed fantasy writer Tim Powers. He is also deep into his first novel, THE GLASS KEY, and a second story for an upcoming KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER anthology, due out from Moonstone in 2006.
