Biography:

Steve Aylett was born in 1967. Twenty years later a replica of his brain was found in a shipment of tropical fruit. When analyzed, the brain was discovered to be made of cast iron and was hollow. It contained traces of lard.

In 1993 Aylett smoked a common bulrush and disappeared for twelve days, returning with the manuscript of The Crime Studio and a ritually lacerated chest. Published by Serif in 1994, the book was widely regarded as a cry for help. His second, Bigot Hall, appeared in 1995.

Aylett has successfully toured a one-man show in which he impersonates the Shroud of Turin, and his ego has been linked to a large and uninteresting orbital satellite.
