Biography:

Alan Brown first came to Japan as a Fulbright journalist in 1987 and stayed for seven years. His novel Audrey Hepburn's Neck, which is set in Japan, was the winner of the Kiriyama Pacific Rim Book Prize in 1996 and has been translated into seven languages. He now lives in New York City, where he is a contributing editor to Time & Leisure magazine and a cultural correspondent for BBC radio.
