Paul Lyons grew up on New York City's Upper West Side and attended Hobart College in Geneva, New York. He earned an M.A. at the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina. He has published fiction in literary quarterlies, including Pulpsmith and Black Warrior Review, and his first novel, Table Legs, was published by New Amsterdam Books in 1989. He is currently an assistant professor at Northeast Louisiana University, in Monroe Louisiana, where he teaches American literature.
