Alberto Manguel was raised in Israel where his father was the Argentine ambassador. He is a prizewinning translator and editor of ten anthologies. He has published two novels, News from a Foreign Country Came and Stevenson Under the Palm Trees. His nonfiction includes the massively successful A History of Reading. He lives in France.
