Born in New Orleans in 1941, the second daughter of an Irish Catholic family, Anne Rice is the author of the phenomenally successful Vampire Chronicles. She has of course written a lot of other things than books about vampires, for example the Mayfair Witches sequence and erotic novels under the pseudonym A.N. Roquelaure and uses also Anne Rampling.
